Curving Away

The present railway station at York was designed by William Peachey* and Thomas Prosser and built in 1877. Only a Victorian could build a utilitarian building with such style and panache. It just needs to be filled with swathes of steam and the reek of burning coal to bring it back to perfection.

*William Peachey was born in Cheltenham and is probably a very distant relative of mine (which is nice).

A good question - I shall go away and ponder it.

Awesome and wonderful are two more words that have lost their way. I say it's high time we take back the language.

There are so many of them - hero, for example. Perhaps this is a good subject for our collaborative blog!

I like the idea - it could be something like your theme of the month. What if we did something like that, picked a theme or a question or a word and looked at it, illustrated our understanding of it, with a multiplicity of approaches?

With, from, whatever it's supposed to be. Sometimes I'm a little too flexible with grammar. I really will try harder to proofread before I hit publish.

Bluesmama, I like it and hopefully we've got enough fellow travellers to make it work. We will need to set up a collaborative blog. If you'd like to email me and save the comments page a lot of waffling, try this temporary address first - blog.3.pershore@spamgourmet.com
