Incidentally

Here's another version of my canal/train project, taken on a duller day and without a woman-in-white (but with added boat).

I like the boat and I like the train... just not so much both in the same picture. It's fine without the blonde chick, she wasn't good enough for you anyway, I'm sure she couldn't appreciate your artistic vision... ;-)

You trying to get different versions of this view intrigues me...

I like framing pics with objects entering the frame to make the viewer wonder where it all is coming from. Would love to see a version of this photo with the train coming into view in upper right or left corner w/o all the background on top. Perhaps the water coming in on the bottom left or right. I wonder what kind of image you would get with that framing?

With the first photo I was wondering where the walking path goes and saw it bending towards the right, now I wonder where that canal comes from, very hidden isn't it? It's weird to see such a big boat on it, is the canal deep?

I'm waiting for the third in the series, Dave: a vertical format making use of the reflections.

By the way, Hannelie, narrow boats have flat bottoms and no keels, so the draft is very shallow. This makes them a real bugger to steer in strong river currents though!

Looks like a happy place. I can definitely see why you're drawn to it.

It is, Josephine, good for walking, cycling or running, or just a bit of old-fashioned quiet contemplation.

Peter: Talking of experience? :)
Thanks for the detail, I have to confess I had no idea.
